Graduate School

Since 1998, Graduate School has been established to provide graduate education at Buriram Rajabhat University which was named as “Buriram Rajabhat Institute” at that time.  In 2004, the Buriram Rajabhat Institute was replaced by Rajabhat University Act, so Buriram Rajabhat University was proclaimed as a juristic person. The Graduate School has been committed to developing and providing the graduate education in order to be in accord with a current change. Only one graduate program offered at BRU was Master of Education Program in Educational Administration. Later, in 1999, Graduate School offered another graduate program: Master of Arts Program in Social Sciences for Development and continued cooperating with Faculty of Education to offer a Graduate Diploma Program in Teacher Profession.  In 2002, it developed an additional program: Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. So, the educational regulation of Graduate school was re-improved to be consistent with changing university status by upgrading the old curricula into the new ones of Buriram Rajabhat University. However, it still opened the same curricula for students during 1998-2003 and developed three additional curricula in 2004: Master of Public Administration, Master of Business Administration Program in General Management, and Master of Arts Program in Local Research and Development. In 2005, the Office of the Higher Education Commission, Ministry of Education, announced the new graduate curriculum standards which were enforced in action until now. Graduate School has still managed graduate studies which were developed to be up-to-date and compliant with the 2005 graduate curriculum standards. In 2007, Graduate School developed a new curriculum, namely, Doctor of Philosophy Program in Educational Administration, and in 2008, it offered two new curricula consisting of the Doctor of Philosophy Program in Leadership for Professional Development and Master of Arts Program in English. At present, Graduate School offers two educational levels: a Master’s degree level consisting of five curricula : 1) Master of Education Program in Educational Administration, 2) Master of Education Program in Curriculum and Learning management, 3) Master of Public Administration Program in Public Administration, 4) Master of Arts Program in English, and 5) Master of Economics Program in Political Economics and Governance, and a Doctoral degree level consisting of two curricula: 1) Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Administration and 2) Doctor of Philosophy Program in Leadership for Professional Development. In the academic year 2015, Faculty of Education developed two master’s degrees consisting of 1) Master of Education Program in Music Studies and 2) Master of Education Program in Educational Research and Evaluation, including Graduate diploma Program in Teacher Profession.  Faculty of Agricultural Technology also developed a Master of Science in Strategy for Agricultural Development.  All curricula have been improved and developed in accordance with the Standard Framework of Graduate Education in 2009 and Professional Councils.

Graduate School is an important institute for the management of graduate studies.  Currently, its mission is to cooperate with other faculties which offer graduate curricula for the management of graduate studies under the university policy, and its administration structure is divided into two parts: a Graduate Studies Board and a Graduate School Board, whose duties are to implement policies to the best practice of faculties.
