Buriram Rajabhat University began offering graduate-level education in the 1998 academic year. At that time, the institution was known as Buriram Rajabhat Institute. In 2004, Buriram Rajabhat Institute was officially upgraded to Buriram Rajabhat University under the Rajabhat University Act B.E. 2547 (2004). The Graduate School has continuously developed its teaching and learning management in order to keep pace with changes and advancements. Graduate programs were further developed from the original three programs, namely: Master of Education Program in Educational Administration and Curriculum and Instruction Master of Arts Program in Social Sciences for Development and Research and Local Development Master of Business Administration Program in General Management Graduate education management has been conducted in accordance with the regulations of the Office of the Higher Education Commission, Ministry of Education, regarding the Standards for Graduate Programs B.E. 2548 (2005), and has continued since 2007 onward.

The Ministry of Education encouraged personnel in basic education to pursue master’s degree studies in order to enhance their knowledge and support the production of academic work for higher professional rank promotion. In addition, the qualifications required for becoming educational institution administrators were revised, resulting in an increasing number of people interested in pursuing graduate studies. Furthermore, the trend toward the establishment of the ASEAN Community led the Graduate School of Buriram Rajabhat University to develop and improve several graduate programs during 2007–2008 to meet the needs of learners and local communities. A total of six programs were developed, consisting of four master’s degree programs and two doctoral degree programs. The four master’s degree programs were: Master of Education Program in Educational Administration Master of Education Program in Curriculum and Instruction Master of Arts Program in English Master of Public Administration Program in Public Administration The two doctoral degree programs were: Doctor of Philosophy Program in Educational Administration Doctor of Philosophy Program in Leadership for Professional Development In 2012, the Graduate School began revising the curricula of programs that had been admitting students continuously for five years.

To ensure that graduate education administration is conducted efficiently and effectively, with clear distinction in producing high-quality graduates in accordance with the Standards for Graduate Education B.E. 2548 (2005) and the Thai Qualifications Framework for Higher Education B.E. 2552 (2009), the administrative structure of the Graduate School at Buriram Rajabhat University was reorganized. Under the new structure, responsibilities related to teaching, learning, and curriculum administration were transferred to faculties offering graduate programs, except for interdisciplinary programs. The Doctor of Philosophy Program in Leadership for Professional Development remained under the new centralized administrative structure. The Graduate School serves as a coordinating agent with faculties offering graduate education by supporting, promoting, developing, supervising, and monitoring educational quality and standards in accordance with the graduate education standards established by the Ministry of Education and the policies of Buriram Rajabhat University. The Graduate Studies Committee acts as the highest governing body responsible for policy-level administration, while the Graduate School Committee implements these policies in cooperation with faculties offering graduate programs. Each faculty also has its own Graduate Studies Committee responsible for managing graduate teaching and learning according to the policies established by the Graduate Studies Committee. At present, Buriram Rajabhat University offers graduate studies at two levels: doctoral and master’s degrees. Programs in: Educational Administration Curriculum and Learning Management Music Education Educational Research and Evaluation English Language Teaching Educational Technology and Computer Education Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) Program in: Public Administration Master of Economics (M.Econ.) Program in: Digital Economics Master of Science (M.Sc.) Program in: Information Technology All programs currently offered comply with the Higher Education Curriculum Standards and the Thailand Qualifications Framework for Higher Education established by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation.

In order to comply with the Thailand Qualifications Framework for Higher Education B.E. 2552 (Thailand Qualification Framework: TQF), and in response to the increasing demand for graduate studies among individuals at Buriram Rajabhat University each academic year, the university has sought to develop new curricula that align with societal and labor market needs. This initiative also aims to enhance the university’s capability in developing international programs and managing graduate education according to the university’s potential and strengths. Recognizing the importance of these objectives, the University Council of Buriram Rajabhat University, at its meeting held on July 28, 2014, approved the establishment of an internal administrative division within the Graduate School, effective from the first semester of the 2014 academic year, in order to improve administrative flexibility and efficiency.
